"oh my god, what do you think it’d look like if Cody and a butterfly had a baby" became this.
left to right:
Sarah the squirrel cuckoo, Greg the black vulture, Celia the chicken nugget, Cody the butterfly, Sam the tody flycatcher, Caley the yellow throated euphonia, Olivia the yellow bellied elaenia, Kirstie the blue gray tanager, Jen the green spiny lizard, Clair the spectacled owl, Sandy the pelican, Louise the orange billed nightingale thrush, and Kathryn the white tipped dove.
My greatest achievement as an intern thus far!

We accidentally went to the wrong Playa Hermosa but things turned out pretty good, I think. #latergram (at Playa Hermosa Guanacaste)

Apparently there are like, four Playa Hermosas in Costa Rica! We thought we were going to the surfing one and sadly this was not it. The beach was still super pretty (and quiet, which was great) and we got to snorkel and went to our hostel owner’s amazing birthday party with his whole family. One older dude played guitar (very very well) and everyone else sang along to famous old Guanacaste songs. Everyone was so nice to the two gringa girls imposing on their family gathering. I ate a taco and a bunch of yucca with the most garlic on it of any food I’ve ever eaten.
